How to Maintain Your Health & Beauty – Tips for Busy Women

If you are an always-busy person having quite a plenty of daily activities, you might not have time to take enough care of your health and beauty. Here are some practical tips on how to stay healthy and looking good – while keeping busy:

Water is essential for your health and beauty, so make sure to drink minimum 6 glasses of mineral water each day. Coffee, tea and alcoholic drinks cause dehydration. If you wake up in the morning with a sad look, it signifies that your body is lack of water. Inadequate water in your body gives an obvious effect to your skin.

Having breakfast is very important. Both your brain and body need energy to do their activities. It’s unnecessary to have a heavy meal in the morning. Just prepare some quick but healthy meal, such as yoghurt, bread, cereal, egg and fruit.

Eat one or two tomatoes during your short breaks. Tomatoes are anti-oxidants; they help fighting cancer cells in your body. If you don’t like eating tomatoes, tomato sauce or paste is the same good as raw tomatoes.

Avoid having donuts, candies or sweet cookies. If you are hungry, just have some sandwich, yoghurt or fruit juice instead. Beside healthy, such foods help keeping you in shape.

Consume multivitamins, though the effect is not as great as if you consume fresh fruit. Vitamins A, B, C and E are essential for your health. They also help you to look young. Yet if you are a heavy smoker or drinker, multivitamins won’t effect so much. Smoking may give you some special taste and relaxation, but consider the bad effect to your health in the long term. Nicotine also gives bad effects to your skin look. Though you’ve been smoking for many years, it’s never too late to stop smoking.

Virus transfers through hands, lift buttons, phones, computers etc., so wash your hands especially when you are going to eat something, or when you are having cold.

Brush your teeth at least twice a day. Other than avoiding teeth problems, this will also save time and money you may spend for visiting a dentist.

Choose stairs instead of lifts. Use stairs for at least 3 or 4 floors then you can have lifts for the next floors. Don’t park your car very near to your workplace so that you can have some decent walk everyday.

Stresses accelerate aging of your body, so minimize your stresses. Breathe deeply to reduce your stress level. Do this regularly. Adequate amount of oxygen will freshen your body up.

You can certainly find more than those mentioned above. Just find and teach yourself.

Achieving That Cover Girl Look – Beauty Tips

Have you ever look at a magazine and admire the makeup of your favorite model or movie star? While these celebrities usually travel with a health and beauty staff dedicated to making them look flawless, there are some things you can do to have the same flawless appearance. Let’s take a look at some tips to make you movie-star beautiful and provide you with some health and beauty dollar savings: 1. Always start your makeup application with concealer. Concealer will hide a multitude of sins – under-eye circles, bags, and blemishes. When blending concealer around your eye area, use your ring finger. The skin around the eye is extremely delicate and using your ring finger makes it less likely to stretch the fragile skin. 2. Before you put on moisturizer, rub your hands together. When you rub your hands together, you warm them slightly which makes the moisturizer absorb into your skin better. 3. Want to have lipstick that lasts for hours. Start by applying your lipstick. Next brush a little loose power on your lips. Blot the powder and lipstick with tissue paper, and reapply the lipstick. 4. Suffering a recent outbreak of pimples? Add a little witch hazel to your foundation. It creates a medicated foundation for treatment of your acne symptoms. 5. Trying to save a little money on make-up? Instead of buying a contouring powder, purchase face powder a few shades darker than your skin tone, and be prepared to blend for a natural look. 6. The best mascara is the most expensive, right? Not at all. Most of the mascaras use similar formulations, and some of the make-up brands are made by the same company. For instance, Lancome and L’Oreal are the same company – just different product lines and packaging. Look for a good mascara that has lengthening and volumizing properties. 7. You don’t need a lot of makeup to look perfect. If your skin is good, use a few touches of concealer, blush, mascara and lip gloss, and set it all with a good loose powder. You’ll look simple and natural. 8. When applying lip gloss, put a small drop on the center of your lip, and gently spread it outwards. This avoids the appearance of too much, and gloppy lips. 9. Make sure you use eye shadow correctly. Darker colors should go towards the outer corner of the eye to make the eye appear open and larger. Use a soft, natural shade towards the inside of your eye (close to the nose area). Let’s face it, we’re all love to play with health and beauty products. But sometimes, a little makeup goes a long way. While it’s tempting to throw everything on, it just makes you look too made-up. The best health beauty free approach is to go for a natural appearance. You want people to look at you, not your makeup.

Wedding Health? Yes, There Is Such A Thing! 6 Simple Tips To Help You Stay Healthy Through The Stress Of It All

Wedding Stress – if you are getting married you have most likely already experienced it in one form or another. That pressure we put on ourselves and we experience from others when planning our wedding can lead to poor health and that’s the last thing you want. No one wants to be feeling like the couple in this picture is right now!

With mental stress comes physical problems because when we find ourselves mentally stressed and exhausted, we certainly aren’t going to feel up to doing anything about our physical health.  Taking good care of yourself, both mentally and physically, is key to helping you make it to your Wedding Day healthy and happy.

There are many things you can do during the process of planning your wedding to help you maintain good “Wedding Health,” and there is certainly no void for great health and beauty tips on the internet, in books, and from your friends and family, but if all you manage to follow are these five simple steps you should be able to keep your Wedding Health barometer in the red. Oh, and this not gender specific, these tips are as equally important for the Groom or Bride!

Take a Break
Sure, you have a million and one things to get done, but you need to take time to relax. “It’s important to take time for yourself.  Read a chapter in your book, get a massage, lay out in the sun, take a nap, go for a slow walk, go to a movie, meet a friend for coffee, get a manicure (yes, men too), visit your Grandparents…. Think of little things you enjoy doing that you can fit into your busy schedule and do them!  Taking a break whether it is for a couple hours or just a short 15 minutes will rejuvenate you and help you to not feel like you are going, going, going, all the time!

Pay Attention to Nutrition
People react to stress in many different ways.  Some people stop eating, while some binge on junk food. Good nutrition is important, especially during hectic times, so be aware of what you are doing.  Do not let your eating habits become bad ones!

This is not new news, it is a known fact that our bodies work better when we “graze” throughout the day as opposed eating large meals 3 times a day.  Try to eat several small balanced meals (optimally four) and a couple of small snacks throughout the day.  And make sure you are getting plenty of protein and complex carbohydrates to fuel your body!  Good sources of protein include lean meats, fish, egg whites, dairy products, beans and rice. Complex carbohydrates include whole-wheat bread, wild rice, whole-wheat pasta, multi-grain cereal and potatoes. You should also aim to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables throughout the day.

Exercise to Look Good, Feel Good
At your wedding, all eyes are on you, so of course you want to look your best. If you want to lose a few pounds or just get in great shape, there are many options for you – from using an exercise tape to going to a gym, to walking briskly, riding your bike or playing a favorite sport.  The key to keeping your exercise up which will significantly help you to look good and feel good is to do something that you enjoy, mix it up so you don’t get bored, and be committed.  Exercise, when you first start it, is not necessarily immediately rewarding, you must stick to it and then one day (a few weeks into it) you realize that you have more energy, you’re sleeping better, and hey, guess what, you find you are fitting just that much better into your wedding dress!

Ah, and those stress-busting endorphins generated by vigorous physical activity are a great side benefit as your wedding draws near and last-minute details start to pile up. Exercise is a great stress reliever. Whether you go for a run, hit the gym for an aerobics class or take the dog for a walk, physical activity can help you look good and feel good!

Get Plenty of Rest
You’ll be better able to deal with any wedding complications if you aren’t sleep deprived. The amount of sleep you need varies from person to person… sadly I’m one of those that needs no less than 8 and like it even better if I get 9.  I say “sadly” because that means there’s less time in my “awake” day to get things done, but I have found that if I don’t stay true to the fact that my body just plain needs this much rest, then it doesn’t matter how much time I have, I just don’t do things quite as well!

Incorporating physical activity into your daily agenda, as mentioned above, also helps to promote a good night’s sleep.

Keep to Your BudgetVery important. Nothing can stress a to be married couple out more than financial matters.  Determine your budget early on and feel good about the decision you make together to have a beautiful wedding while keeping to your budget!  This “exercise” of sticking to your plan and your budget will also help to create a solid foundation for your financial future.

Above All, Having a Sense of Humor is Vital
Having a good sense of humor and also being able to let things roll off your back and “go with the flow” is vital to your mental and physical health.  It is inevitable that you’ll encounter some bumps along the road to your wedding day. The important thing is how you react to them — they can ruin your day (or your week), or you can take them in stride and move on. A sense of humor may be your most important tool as you plan your wedding.

Ok, you say, well, these tips are nothing new.  No new tricks; you’ve heard all this before, right?  I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest that since this advice is given over and over again that it must be good advice!  Don’t feel like you have to have some big new difficult steps to pursue, following the “basics” for good health and nutrition are all you really need! Now, go take on the day and happy wedding planning to you!

By ’self-accountability’ I mean what we pro-actively do NOW to invest in our strength, health and grace. Allow it to sink in…’grace = strength = ‘functionality’; allow this notion to grow through you and guide your self-care. Translation: In 10 years, the total spent will be nearly 20 cents out of every dollar. Out-of-pocket consumer spending on health care will rise to $440 billion. Add that figure to the $50 billion Americans already spend on beauty alone, and it is clear that we each are going to reach deeper into our pocketbooks for our health and beauty costs. Consumer 101 – Killing Beauty

Drop Dead Gorgeous
How far would you go to be the fairest of them all? In Elizabethan times, women rubbed lead on their face and mercury in their lips to achieve beauty. The health problems were innumerable and serious. During the Italian Renaissance, a certain Signor Toffano created an arsenic-laced face powder. This lovely little gimmick was marketed as a way for rich women to rid themselves of their unwanted husbands. One flick of a powder puff was enough to see him buried. Today we would baulk at such a risk but we still happily slather ourselves in chemicals so strong they are handled with protective clothing in laboratories. Is it possible the cosmetic industry is still peddling beauty to die for? How do we know, after all just reading the ingredient list in a moisturiser seems to require a biology degree.
Lets start with the ubiquitous sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). This chemical is used in almost everything from toothpaste to shampoos. But its side effects can include eczema, irritated eyes and skin (with prolonged exposure) and possible inflammation and infection of the urinary tract and vagina. Checking children’s products to make sure they use the less harsh sodium laureth sulphate is a good idea as SLS has been shown to permanently damage children’s eyes.
Other dodgy ingredients include EDC’s. These gender-bending chemicals are linked to falling sperm counts in men. Some, like Nonylphenol used in cosmetics, Butylated hydroxy anisole (BHA) and E320 (which can leach into cosmetics from PVC containers) are restricted by the EU with a defined tolerable daily intake. However, overtime they build up in our body tissues and some experts consider there is no safe level for use.
Alpha hydroxy Acid (AHA). The cosmetic industrys favourite discovery AHA and BHAs are fruit and milk sugar exfoliates respectively. They work by rubbing off the outer layer of skin to expose the younger-looking? skin beneath. They cannot, as advertisers suggest, permanently improve your skin. In fact, they could ruin it. The epidermis (top layer) of skin is an important barrier protecting the body from UV rays and chemicals we come in contact with. The body’s natural reaction to having it rubbed away is to create a thicker tougher epidermis, trapping you into a cycle of exfoliating. If you choose to regularly use products containing AHA’s then you will also need to use a stronger sunscreen. AHA’s have only been around ten years and their long-term effects are still unknown.
Natural products and extracts show the beauty industry has got wise to our desire for a more natural life. But too often “natural” ranges are just repackaged old products with small amounts of “extracts” added to keep the consumer happy. Really ?natural? products may also need higher levels of preservatives to keep them from going off, and so end up with the same number of chemicals found in all cosmetics and toiletries. Finally of course natural products such as plants and animal extracts can easily be as poisonous as chemicals.
Baby soft skinBabies and young children are particularly susceptible to infection, so products for children under three must have 50 times less microbes then adult products- according to EU law. This does mean they have many more preservatives in them- including benzoates. Benzoates can cause gastric irritation, mouth numbing and urticara and are often used in baby wipes. Perhaps the best option is to choose products with the smallest list of ingredients possible, and use baby soap and water where possible.
Animal magicThe Romans once painted their nails with a mixture of animal blood and fat. While this would horrify the public today there are a surprising number of animal products on our bathroom shelves. If you are a vegetarian this can make life difficult. Some animal-derived ingredients are pretty easy to spot other telltale names include:
Tallow, CI 77267, CI 77268, Collagen, Elastin, Gelatin, Hyaluronic Acid Keratin, Musk, Serum Albumin, Unipertan
Even if cosmetics say they have not been tested on animals, the individual ingredients are sure to have been tested, but not necessarily by the manufacturer.
Are you worth it?
Before you get too alarmed remember few people suffer serious health problems from cosmetics although many find certain products don’t agree with them. Buying simpler products, that don’t make us pay for wildly unrealistic advertising is probably a good idea. Cosmetics and toiletries can clean us, make us smell sweeter and enhance our looks but for real health and beauty, throwing money at the beauty counter is not an answer.
Boring but true: the only way to make your skin and hair healthier, and eyes brighter are the old tried and tested methods of health and nutrition. This means eating a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water and getting enough sleep. It also means staying out of the sun, exercising regularly and quitting smoking. It may not come in the most glamorous package- but your body and health are definitely worth it.

Natural Beauty is Healthy Beauty

For years, we have heard that healthy living can help you age well. Living a healthy life will lower your mortality across the entire lifespan, even if there is no impact on aging and age-related changes. It turns out that from the point of view of longevity, your healthy spirit and your healthy mind are equally (if not more) important as your healthy body.

When there are not enough antioxidants to hold peroxidation in check, free radicals begin damaging healthy cells which, in turn, can lead to problems. So eat a healthy and varied diet and be sure to eat some tomatoes, brazil nuts, blueberries, fish, kiwi, and broccoli each week. Poor diet, an unhealthy lifestyle, stress, and toxins in our environment can all dramatically increase the levels of free radicals in our bodies. Antioxidants boost our immunity, make our muscles stronger, and keep our bones and skin healthy.

A healthy skin is determined by our life styles, and also by what we eat and drink. Skin that is healthy can also help you make sure that your entire health is much better as well. In addition to boosting yourself confidence, healthy skin is an indicator of a healthy body. Taking proper care of your skin can do more to enhance your ap-pearance than all the lotions and creams applied to cover up unhealthy skin, it can even help you avoid the rashes and other diseases which necessitate an expensive visit to a dermatologist.

Organic creams provide your skin with external nutrition that keeps it looking healthy and allows you to age gracefully. People who use natural skin care products are less concerned with artificial beauty enhancements, as they feel that natural beauty is healthy beauty. So if you want to have a healthy skin, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, reduce stress, sleep well and eat healthy. Stay away from sodas or drinks with caffeine, which dry the skin, use a humidifier to increase the level of moisture in the air, treat your skin right in the winter months and youll have healthy glowing skin to put on show once summer arrives.

There is strong evidence that one of the adaptations resulting from exercise is a strengthening of the body’s antioxidant defenses, particularly the glutathione system, to deal with the increased oxidative stress. Exercise your brain and body through challenging but fun activities that enhance your learning, visualization, creativity and speech. Proper use of nutrition, diet, herbs and supplements to boost your mental powers. Free your brain from stress, depression, downward spiral and negativity around your environment. Provide therapy information about harmful environmental and lifestyle inhibitors that could be preventing your system from reaching its maximum functions. Suggest natural vegan and organic products that truly works in your body system. Thinking about of what you can do about your aging process and discovering ways to maintain and reform your health and beauty is entirely up to you.

Do strength training exercise, especially with the large muscle groups (chest, back, and thigh) at least 3 times a week, 15 minutes each time to increase growth hormone secretion. While regular exercise can enhance our antioxidant defense system, excessive sporadic exercise can increase free radicals in our system. Thus, the “weekend warrior” who is predominantly sedentary during the week but engages in vigorous bouts of exercise during the weekend may be doing more harm than good.

Although regular exercise produces many positive health benefits, it also causes an increased production of free radicals. Free radicals are formed both during normal metabolism, and whenever the body is exposed to stresses such as pollutants in the air (cigarette smoke), food (Trans-fats), water (heavy metals), and even excessive exercise. Indeed, intense or prolonged exercise can cause radical-mediated injury to skeletal muscles, particularly in untrained individuals. Therefore, it is not surprising that there is strong interest in the effects of antioxidant supplements on exercise performance.

But when used properly, in combination with eating a healthy diet full of fruit and vegetables, getting plenty of exercise and not smoking, antioxidant supplements can play an important role in maintaining and promoting overall health. Taking antioxidants such as vitamins C and E or beta-carotene, probably also improve recovery after exhaustive exercise.

Remember antiaging is a combination of several different antiaging treatments that should be balanced together to help keep your whole body healthy. You should consult with a healthcare professional before starting any diet, exercise or supplementation program, before taking any medication, or if you have or suspect you might have a health problem.
